I have now been using the programme for a total of eight hours over four days.
Rhythm Reading consists of 60 lessons and I have made it to lesson 30 so far. Each day, at the end of my two hour session, I attempted lesson 60, which is very difficult. I have been unable to do it at all, thus far. I am hoping that, by the end of the 30 days, I will be able to do it with ease. At the moment I cannot even do lesson 40.
Interval Identification consists of 37 lessons, I have got as far as lesson 28. I found the first 15 lessons relatively easy but I am beginning to struggling. Since lesson 17 I have had to repeat most lessons at least once, I have also found that it takes me a lot longer to get through the exercises as I need to spend more time thinking about the answer. As with Rhythm Reading I have tried the last lesson in the Interval Identification at the end of each day. On day one I scored 36%, day two % and day three 72%! This is quite a notable improvement although each day it has taken me longer to complete lesson 37. I am hoping that once I have repeated all of the interval exercises I will find it easier. I'm still finding, though, that I need to sing them and associate them with songs!
The third exercise I am doing is Interval Singing, I have only spent 35minutes on this over the past four days but now I hope to do 30 minutes each day.
I made two recordings of short sight-reading exercises before I started using EarMaster and I hope to do more exercises over the course of the trial, noting how I have improved. I'm going to use graded sight-reading exercises to give me a better idea of how I am progressing.
It is quite difficult doing two hours a day but I am hoping that I will be an amazing sight-reader by the end of the month!
